Learning to play a stringed instruments provides physical, mental and social benefits. In the Itasca Strings Program you become a member of a student orchestra in addition to receiving weekly lessons. Throughout the year there are opportunities to participate in workshops and fun activities.
Our highly qualified Instructors will provide lessons in violin, viola, cello or bass during the school day and after school in District 318 Schools, Deer River, Vandyke Elementary, Greenway High School, and at The Reif
Center for adults and students beginning at age 6. Students receive weekly lessons. All students play in one of four student orchestras, which rehearse after school at the Robert J. Elkington
Middle School. Students may ride District 318 buses from their school to orchestra practice.
We have a Competitive scholarships and need based scholarships available. The competitive scholarship deadline is May 29th. Register early for preferred lesson times and scholarship availability.
The $50 commitment fee registers you for the 2020/2021 school year. Discount for early registration until May 29th.
