IOSP/TCCC August Youth Music Camp
#: group   ID:    Section:
Description:

Our Youth Music Camp activities focus on nurturing the individual potential of participants and ownership of their art, providing a safe and supportive environment for creativity and expression, developing team-work skills, and an understanding of music as a universal language, accessible to all.

The camp offers a combination of instrumental training, including the Strings Bootcamp for Beginners, workshops based on innovative teaching methods (Harvard University Pretexts), group activities focused on the integration of arts, and performance opportunities for each participant.

Our camp instructors are experienced teaching artists and internationally acclaimed performers, including faculty from University of Minnesota, Duluth, Emporia University in Kansas, West Texas A&M University, as well as local music educators.

NEW in 2023 - COMPOSITION CLASS with a special guest faculty, dr. Matthew Honas.
In the composition class, students will learn foundational composition skills to learn how to shape the sounds around them through art, notation, and experimentation through play! Designed for children at any level, students will learn how to make melodies, harmonies, perform new music, and to begin creating their own works.
