Description:
Ready to make waves? Join us for an exhilarating one-week introduction to competitive swimming for middle-schoolers in grades 4-7.
Swimmers will work on the following areas:
-Stroke Development: Learn the four competitive swimming strokes(freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) through drills and tailored guidance.
-Racing Skills: Learn starts, turns and finishes to enhance efficiency and speed
-Endurance Training: Engage in fun activities to build stamina and endurance
-Teamwork & Sportsmanship: Emphasizing the values of teamwork, respect and sportsmanship both in the pool and in life.
Class is open to boys and girls in grades 4-7 who are not current swimmers on the Grand Rapids School swim team
Prerequisite- Participants should be able to swim the length of the pool without stopping.
Coached by Rose Hansen, 4-year collegiate swimmer and WIAC all conference recognized swimmer.
