Refund Policy

Community Education agencies may cancel any class or program that does not meet the minimum enrollment. A full refund will be issued to those who register for a class that is canceled or full. Refunds will also be given if weather or an emergency closes school districts. To drop a class you must request a refund from the agency with which you are registered three (3) working days before the class starts. No refunds will be given once the class has started.

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide structure fire fighters and others who have taken the online/self study course.  NOTE: This class is not needed if taking the S-130 Instructor Led Class above;. This course is being promoted for MN fire department personnel needing to complete the field day portion for NWCG certificate issuance. The “field day only” class is being offered for students who have previously completed the online classroom portion of the course. The class is 1.5 day field exercise where students will receive hands-on training with basic wildland firefighting organization, tools and equipment. Students will need to come dressed and prepared to work in the woods in hot
and/or rainy conditions. Basic PPE equipment (hardhats, eye/ear protection will be provided). Students will need to bring rain gear, leather work gloves and lace up boots in good shape that provide good traction and ankle support

We will be conducting field exercises rain, snow or shine so bring appropriate field clothing and leather boots or hard-toe boots which are required to be worn during the outdoor exercises! Bring a rain jacket, bug spray, sunscreen,etc.
NOTE:Nomex shirts will be provided along with gloves, hardhat, ear, and eye protection; you are not required to bring your own, but you can if you wish.  Synthetic clothing will not be allowed on the field days.
Students will need to bring with them to the class proof of completion of online course.
